About Juliet

How it all began

It was 2012. I packed my bags and headed to Thailand to work with elephants at the Surin Elephant Sanctuary, volunteer with the local schools and explore a land I had only read about. During a week in between my volunteer hours, I felt called to register for a silent meditation program. Not knowing what I was actually signing up for, I walked in to a giant meditation hall with approximately 100 other participants. A day or two in, the monk we were studying with asked if anyone had ever practiced yoga. About 50 hands shot up in the air, mine included. He looked at me and said “I want you to take everyone in the back of the room and teach them yoga.” It wasn’t a question, but a command. I tried to silently explain to him that I wasn’t a yoga teacher, and that I had no right to do such a thing, but he just met my gaze with intense direction, so I obeyed. I led the group in some memorized sun salutations and a few other yoga postures i knew from my own personal practice, and when it was finished, several "students” came to me to tell me how wonderful my class was. When i turned around, there stood my monk. He was inches from my face. He looked me dead in the eye, winked and then said simply “now you know what you are meant to do”. It was in that moment, my life changed course, and that is how Juliet became a yoga teacher.

Outside of yoga, you can find Juliet gardening and concocting various medicines and natural products with the herbs she tends to, spending time with her Brady Bunch family that includes 7 kids and a cat, and dabbling with an assortment of musical instruments such as the handpan, finger harp, medicine flute, singing bowls, guitar, and quite a few others. She enjoys singing to her kids, telling lame jokes, writing poetry and escape rooms. If Juliet could describe herself in just a few words, she would tell you that she aspires to always remain deeply inside of her authenticity, integrity, wildly open heart and damn good sense of humor. ;)
